Scubo announced the launch of their online Education Centre on March 7th, a new learning platform that gives people all over the world access to their conservation programs focused on marine life and environmental best practices.
Scubos Diver’s Education Centre provides anyone interested in marine conservation with the opportunity to learn about a variety of themes, including marine life, coral reef protection, and practical skills to assist them improve their underwater understanding.
We sought to offer a new approach to disseminate our knowledge of marine biodiversity and the maintenance of our ocean globe, given the travel restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
We saw an opportunity to provide people with something unique that they can access from their homes while promoting our love for conservation and supporting our team as a small business affected by the present crisis.
Workshops on molas, mantas, turtles, tropical fish, coral reefs, mangroves, and more are available at the Education Centre. The mola session is free, while the other workshops cost $40. To be eligible for the Conservation Diver Certification Program, you must attend all sessions.
We have held yearly Ocean Day programs since opening our dive resort in 2010, however due to the current constraints, we are unable to present at local schools, do beach and street cleanups, or undertake garbage dives. We can continue to emphasize the importance of actions and education to achieve a more sustainable future through our online Education Centre.
